This was taken on a hike in Sedona. You can see all of this part of the city and the shadows of the clouds over the rock formations. The colours in the rocks always amaze me, as I don’t see much of that were I live. The greenery around compliments the red rock very well.
This is a shot I took on my most recent trip to Arizona. We decided to head up to California for a few days and stayed in the Weston Desert Willows in the Palm Desert area of Palm Springs. This photo is taken over a gold course and just before sunset with the mountains in the background.
This photo was taken atop Cascade Mountain in the Adirondacks. It was a very cloudy day but that did not stop us. By the time I had reached the top I was in a t-shirt and jeans. We got fairly warm during the hike up so we took layers off to ensure that we would not sweat. But I can assure you, once I got to the clearing on top the wind convinced me that I needed more than just a t-shirt.
I have always loved photography, and the first time I discovered tilt-shift I did not believe that what I was seeing was actually real. I find tilt-shift really neat and I love how it plays with your perception of reality, for example, this shot is not new to this blog, I posted the original a few days ago, and now it looks like model of something. Everything looks miniature. I will leave the original below for comparison.
This is one of my favourite shots of the trip to my friend’s cottage in northern Ontario. It was a lot of fun canoeing around the lake and checking out what was supposed to be a waterfall but was in fact a rapid because the water was so high this year. We have gotten and are still getting record amounts of rain and it is putting a strain on our water ways.
The Scottsdale Quarter is the richer part of the already very wealthy Scottsdale area of Phoenix. We ate at a neat burger place called Zin Burger, it very much as a hipster vibe to it, but it is nice regardless. If you are in Scottsdale, take some time to check out this area. You will not regret it, but if you plan on spending money, you will be spending a lot.
Once you get out of the desert in Phoenix Arizona starts to look like any other forested area. It reminded me of the Canadian Shield. This was the first sign of snow we saw and as I continued further North snow was seen on the ground next to the road. The forests and mountains were really nice and very vibrant despite it being winter.
