This is a shot I took on my most recent trip to Arizona. We decided to head up to California for a few days and stayed in the Weston Desert Willows in the Palm Desert area of Palm Springs. This photo is taken over a gold course and just before sunset with the mountains in the background.
This photo was taken atop Cascade Mountain in the Adirondacks. It was a very cloudy day but that did not stop us. By the time I had reached the top I was in a t-shirt and jeans. We got fairly warm during the hike up so we took layers off to ensure that we would not sweat. But I can assure you, once I got to the clearing on top the wind convinced me that I needed more than just a t-shirt.
This is one of my favourite shots from Arizona, it isn’t perfect and there are some smudges from taking a picture through a window, but it doesn’t need to be. I like the way the sun shines through some of the shrubbery and the cacti stand out. The mountains in the background illuminated from behind, and the lens flare caused by the sun leaving a small trace of blue sky visible. I really enjoy this picture.
